5 Easy WoW Gold Secrets You Can Start Today

If you play WoW, at some point you have probably ended up pulling the levels faster than you can bring in gold, and as a result, something you need has fallen by the wayside. Maybe it was a mount, or some gear that would have really sped up your leveling. Perhaps you hit the level cap and couldn’t afford to upgrade your garbage leveling gear. Either way you need some WoW gold secrets to avoid ending up in that place again.

1. Don’t stop looting until your bags are full. Seriously, this is one of the most common mistakes among newbies. If you can sell it, pick it up. If you have no room in your bags, run, don’t walk, to the nearest merchant and vendor what you’ve got. Put greens, blues, and purples up on the auction house and vendor everything else, then watch the gold roll in. Don’t skimp on bags either, you’d be surprised how much of a difference 2 extra slots per bag can make.

2. If you can’t use any of the quest rewards, choose the weapon or plate. As a rule, this will net you a better vendor price, though there are some exceptions. When in doubt, don’t hesitate to check Wowhead.com. 1 or 2 gold per quest can really add up in Outland and Northrend. If multiple weapons are available, keep in mind that 2 handers usually sell for more than 1 handers, which usually sell for more than ranged weapons. If multiple armor pieces are available, legs, chests, shoulders, and helms are usually valued in that order.

3. Make use of gathering professions. Extensive use, in fact. With this tip alone you can net double the gold of people who don’t gather. Even just grabbing stuff on the way while you are questing or exploring is enough to give you a solid income. I’ve found mining to get the best results, but skinning and herbalism do decently as well. Taking mining and skinning together is a surefire way to keep yourself stocked on gold.

4. Instead of selling cloth in stacks, sell it by the piece. While you are at it, double the price. Now fill a few pages with your cloth pieces, and watch the sales roll in. Most players don’t bother to look ahead and try to find the full stacks, they’d rather not put the effort in. As a result of this, you get a tidy profit. You also get some extra sales from the professions that don’t need bulk orders of cloth, like engineers and blacksmiths.

5. ABQ — Always Be Questing. It may not have the same ring to it as Alec Baldwin’s signature line from Glengarry Glen Ross, but it’s equally noteworthy in terms of its impact on your gold income. If you are out and about in the world and there is a quest you could be doing on your way or in the area, do it! This is especially true at the cap when the remaining quest experience is converted into additional gold. With Wrath of the Lich King, there are dailies in pretty much every zone, so you know that there are always one or two quick quests you can knock out for some gold.
