Pets For World of Warcraft
Written by Glenn P Griffin.

For the World of Warcraft player who embarks on his journey as a Hunter, having a pet will often keep you company, as Hunters often opt for a solo adventure.

The pet’s role extends far beyond keeping your Hunter from getting lonely. A pet serves a functional purpose and gives your Hunter the upper edge when fighting with monsters and minimizes your own chance of taking unnecessary damage.

There are quite a number of pets to choose from in the game, so there is no short of variety. Deciding on a pet can be a tough choice, so to make this task a little easier for you, I will highlight the pros and cons of each pet in this article. Also bear in mind that there are no pets that are above the rest. It all just really boils down to your personal preference, and which one you think will serve your journey best.

There are a few steps that need to be taken first before you can go in search of a pet. The first step is to tame a pet, and this can be achieved by finishing a taming quest and then completing the quest. Once you have these two steps under your belt, you’re ready for your first pet.

If you happen to own a real pet, do you regularly feed it? The answer is obviously “yes”, and you want to treat your Warcraft pet the same. Periodically feeding your pet will ensure that it remains happy, and a happy pet will demonstrate its loyalty by dealing over 100% damage to enemies. Content pets will deal damage at 100%. Be a negligent pet owner and your pet will show its dissatisfaction by dealing below 100% damage. In some cases, your pet may just run away.

Now comes the time to make your pet selection. Here are the ins and outs of each pet. Pets like cats, ravagers, and hyenas have a dash ability which can up their speed by a certain percentage.

If you prefer ninja like abilities, then a cat is a top choice. Cats can use stealth, which enables them to creep up on enemies unnoticed.

Pets of flight like the bat and owl are good for close range damage. Their screech ability allows them to deal damage while lowering the attack power of nearby enemies.

If you prefer pets with a high damage output, cats and ravagers are good choices, though these pets often suffer from inferior health meters. Other pets like bears and gorillas are the opposite with superb health stats but lower damage output.

Each pet has an array of attributes that would take an entire guide to go into detail. This article should be enough for the Warcraft newbie entering his first journey as the Hunter.

When it comes to MMORPG titles, no game steals the spotlight more than World of Warcraft. Since its release way back in the mid 90′s, Warcraft has attracted scores of loyal players ranging in the millions. Let’s face it, most of us live a boring life. Warcraft provides an outlet for the average joe to live an adventure, even if it is imaginary. Warcraft also provides a social venue for players to form their own guilds and associations. I must add though, that WoW isn’t always fun and exciting, as a large portion of the game involves grinding and farming for gold, a process that requires agonizing hours of repeated action and movement. Unfortunately, this is not part of the game that you can just skip. having gold is a must, and without enough of it, you really can’t expect to make it very far.

Remaining on top of your game requires gold, there is no way around it. The game requires constant upgrades of your skills as well as equipment, and you’re going to need them when taking on harder quests. Completion of these high level quests will have you leveling up much faster. I will highlight some advice and pointers that will point you in the right direction for making gold. Warcraft newbies should really follow the rest of this article.

The first tip is to make good use of the Auction House. You can make some serious gold here if you know what you’re doing. Selling your ores to the Auction House is a good starting point. A time and proven strategy is to hone your focus on ores that are fairly abundant and easy to locate, yet sells at quite a fair price. In most cases, selling a high quantity of these ores to the Auction House is more profitable and less frustrating than trying to locate the much higher valued ores that can be really difficult to find.

You may also want to work on improving your mining skills, knowing where to find good quantities of gold would be a time saver. Be sure to have the right tools in hand and a map where you can pinpoint the gold. There are also software available that will make this task a whole lot easier. Some of these include maps and other tools that keeps track of your last mining locations.

There is also fishing. Like fishing in real life, Warcraft fishing requires patience, and can get boring really quick. However, as the saying goes, good things comes to those who wait, and this is especially true if you know the best locations. Familiarize yourself with the different types of fish and where they can be found.

You can also take on a mercenary role by helping other players completing their quest in return for a sum of gold.

There are a lot of various ways to get gold, so don’t limit yourself to any one method. It is also recommended that you invest in a gold guide as this will prevent a lot of unnecessary guesswork.

Are you reaching the gold cap, excelling in raids, or dominating in PvP arena battles? If the answer is “no”, then please check out the World of Warcraft review of the top strategy guides by checking out the link. You can also sign up for free newsletters by visiting the link.

Warcraft Cataclysm – New Abilities For The Warrior
Written by Glenn P Griffin.

Any World of Warcraft player who have used the warrior as their chosen class may have experienced a frustrating moment when Blizzard made a controversial decision to nerf some of the warrior’s abilities. “Nerf” is the elimination of skills and talents that Blizzard feels have become too powerful and therefore gives the players an unfair advantage over other players. This was the case for players of the warrior class in Wrath of the Lich King. Warrior players were dominating players of other classes in PvP competition due to their powerful abilities and high damage attacks.

There is some good news though, with the release of the latest installment Cataclysm. Warriors in Cataclysm are given back much of the skills that were originally removed. In addition, the warrior class now also have some new abilities that can be gained through their talent tree.

Arms will continue to dominate as the best spec for the Warrior. This enables the Warrior to use maneuvers like Mortal Strike, which according to consensus, is pound for pound the most powerful wound strike across every class. Extra damage can be implemented with the addition of gushing wound, which stacks when the affected victim moves.

With the Cataclysm expansion comes new skills to experiment with. For the mighty Warrior, one of the new skills is the very destructive Colossus Smash, which penetrates through enemy armor, leaving the enemy vulnerable for up to six seconds. This is a skill that players of all other classes need to watch for and be weary of. Warriors can now also use the Heroic Leap ability. This skill allows them to jump into the fray from out of range distances.

Warriors are such a desirable class to play for their ability to deal maximum damage with every hit they deal. Blizzard have modified the warrior’s talent tree so the Arms warrior is the only spec to build for PvP. There are new talents such as the Lambs to the Slaughter which takes effect after the use of Mortal Strike and deals additional damage depending on the amount of points you got for the talent.

If you play as the Warrior, pray that Blizzard will not butt in and nerf these new abilites as they did in Lich King. Assuming that Blizzard does nothing and let these abilities remain with the Warrior in Cataclysm, they will dominate in PvP combat and remain at the top of the chain for damage, which is what they have always been noted for.
